Corporation started its activity in Turkey in 1966 when the tender of Golden Horn Bridge Project was invited. After the completion of the project in 1974, ITOCHU Corporation established its first Liaison Office in Ankara, of which activities includes the turn-key investment projects and also supply of Japanese origin industrial products to Turkish markets mainly for the purchases of the Government Organizations.

Due to the foreseen dynamic future of the Turkey's private sector, the second Liaison Office was established in Istanbul in 1982, and in 1989 that was re-organized to Istanbul Branch Office by the official registry at Istanbul Chamber of Commerce.

By the establishment of the Branch Office, ITOCHU gained flexibility to do any kind of commercial activity in the form of Imports/Exports throughout ITOCHU Offices network all over the world.

Nowadays, ITOCHU Corporation in Turkey is doing following business:

  • EPC for power-stations, steels mils and etc.
  • EPC for infrastructure project like bridges.
  • Automotive business area including investment to AIOS, ISUZU Trucks and Buses
  • Supply of industrial machines & equipment
  • Minerals, Energy (Crude Oil and Gas) business

  • Food and General Merchandise business
  • Invetment project in the areas of new business area like renewable energy
